According to researcher Peggy Swarbrick, a researcher at Rutgers University, eight dimensions of wellness contribute to our overall well-being. In fact, research shows that people with spiritual beliefs often have lower levels of depression and anxiety, and they may also show signs of better physical health, such as lowered blood pressure. Apart from this, spiritual wellness brings other benefits, such as:

Self-reflection can be a powerful way to discover your values and principles in life. Start by setting 5-10 minutes towards the end of the day for reflection. Think about how your day was, and appreciate yourself for what went well. Also, take time to reflect on what you want out of your life. You can also consider keeping a journal to record your thoughts. A journal will also help you track how much you have grown over a period of time.
Volunteer
Consider volunteering for a cause that matters to you. Volunteering can help you connect with like-minded people and work towards something that you are strongly passionate about. Working towards a cause can often bring a sense of satisfaction, meaning and purpose to our lives.

Occupational wellness goes beyond just having a job, rather, it is the ability to maintain a balance between work and leisure to create a healthy lifestyle and a sense of personal satisfaction in your work. It also involves finding meaning and joy in the work you do and aligning your career with your values. In a sense, the occupational dimension of wellness is about maintaining a healthy work-life balance, while also finding a sense of purpose in your job and career
Developing occupational wellness is important as it allows you to find a job and career that fits within your values. Finding a sense of purpose in our job and career can also contribute to a deep level of satisfaction and meaning in other areas of life as well. Occupational wellness also allows us to have deep, fulfilling and positive relationships with our colleagues. It encourages us to find an overall sense of balance so that we can enjoy our lives during work and outside of work as well.
When people have a strong sense of occupational wellness, they are likely to experience:

- A positive relationship with their colleagues and team leaders

Here are some tips to improve your occupational wellness:
- Focus on consistently working towards your goals and what you want to achieve in your job and career
- Focus on building knowledge and skills that will help you reach your goals
- Consider enhancing your workspace in the office by incorporating some plants or personal elements. Studies indicate that including plants in your workspace can reduce stress and noise. Adding personal touches like photos can bring a personal touch to work
- Work towards building meaningful connections with your colleagues
- Establish appropriate boundaries at work by taking regular breaks and scheduling time in the day for things that you enjoy
